Employers - Options for Recruiting on Campus

We focus on providing opportunities for students and recent graduates to link with employers providing career oriented employment and internships. If you would like to schedule a campus visit to provide an overview of your organization or to conduct employment or internship interviews, please first review our Employer Policies for Use of Services to determine if the office will be able to assist with your on-campus recruitment.

Please note from the recruitment calendar that Ohio State operates on the quarter system and holds four commencements a year - in December, March, June, and August.

Participating in a Career Fair

The office organizes two career fairs each year. The Non-Profit Career Fair is held in February and Spring Career Day is held in April.

Scheduling an Information Session

For information sessions, please submit the Visit Request Form at least fifteen business days in advance of your target visit day.

Information Sessions are arranged for organizations seeking to promote internships or full-time employment opportunities. The office prioritizes requests for scheduling of on-campus information sessions based on the following criteria:

Except for those who are office sponsors, the office limits scheduling of information sessions to once a year.

Arranging an Interview Day

For on-campus interviews, please submit the Visit Request Form at least fifteen business days in advance for open interviews and twenty business days in advance for pre-select interviews.

Requests for space are considered after submitted postings have been approved. Except for those who are either recognized as office sponsors or who are working in partnership with one of the academic departments within the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences, use of interview space is provided on a first come/first serve basis and is limited to twice a year.

In some instances, you may want to divide your time on campus and work with a couple of career services offices. With ample advance notice, the office’s Program Assistant may be able to arrange a split interview schedule - allowing you to interview Arts and Sciences candidates as well as those affiliated with a different college. For instance, employers with general business positions can recruit a broader array of students by working with both Arts and Sciences Career Services and the Fisher College of Business Career Services Office.

Marketing your Visit to Target Majors or Student Groups

The staff can advise you on how to best market your organization in preparation for your campus visit. While advertisements in the campus newspapers, The Lantern and U-Weekly, will give your organization exposure to a broad student audience, the staff can direct you to resources focused on select groups of Arts and Sciences students. These include: academic clubs, departmental advisors, and college staff and faculty.

If you choose to advertise your visit in one of the campus publications, please follow the steps below which represent “recruiter best practices.”
