Uploading Your Resume onto FutureLink
Important Tips
- The system allows you to load multiple versions of your resume, but you must specify a default version. Since the default is the one that appears when employers search the system, you are advised to examine the wording of your resume especially the Objective if you include such a statement. A good default resume meets the following criteria:
- overviews skills and accomplishments that appeal to a variety of employers
- includes an objective that is general enough to satisfy any employer, but not so general that it reduces your chances for consideration. For some students, eliminating the objective on the default resume is a better strategy.
- uses either a chronological format or a functional format with skill headings that appeal to a variety of employers (e.g, Leadership, Project Management, Communication)
- It is easier for employers to track your application materials when you include your name in the files title (e.g., Brutus_Buckeye_Resume).
- For ease in submitting other key application materials (e.g., cover letters, writing samples), you can also store these documents in FutureLink by following the steps found in the Documents tab.
