Options for Recruiting on Campus

We provide opportunities for students and recent graduates to link to employers who are recruiting for career oriented employment and internships. Before requesting a campus visit, please read our Employer Policies for Use of Services and review our terms of service.

Ohio State operates on a semester system and holds three commencements per year (December, May, and August).

Participate in a Career Fair

The office organizes various career fairs throughout the year.  For more information about these fairs, please see the Career Fairs section of this website.

Host an Information Session

Information sessions may be arranged for organizations seeking to promote internships or full-time employment opportunities. Typically scheduled during the evening and held in a classroom on campus, information sessions are a great way for you to introduce your organization’s mission, values, and culture to students and explain your hiring process. Most employers use a presentation (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi) to share information and conclude the session with Q&A. Information sessions typically last 45 to 90 minutes. Students are generally encouraged to attend in business casual attire, unless otherwise instructed.

Information sessions can be requested through your FutureLink account. It is also highly recommended that you use FutureLink to post the positions for which you will be recruiting at your information session. Once logged into your account, choose the Post a Position tab to get started.

Schedule Office Hours

Office hours are a unique opportunity for you to connect with students in a less formal setting. These events are generally held during a 1.5 to 2 hour block during the business day (between 8:00am and 5:00pm) and scheduled in one of the smaller conference spaces maintained by the College of Arts and Sciences Career Services Office. Usually structured in a “drop-in” format, students are encouraged to stop by as they can between classes to learn more about your organization and hiring practices. If arranged in advance, you may also use this time to provide students feedback about their resumes and other job application materials.

Request an Interview Day

Employers who schedule on-campus interviews increase the visibility of their organization and demonstrate commitment to hiring candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University. Whether you are seeking to recruit candidates with a liberal arts education, technical knowledge gained from studies in the sciences, or creative talents shaped by coursework in the Arts, we can assist you with sourcing the right intern or entry-level employee. Best of all, this service is free to you and convenient for students!

Our dedicated interview suite features a quiet lobby area for waiting students, a break room for employer representatives, and easy access to a number of restaurants on and near campus. Our staff is committed to helping you maximize your recruiting initiatives by creating a customized interview schedule that allows you to make the most of your visit.

For more information about the on-campus interview process, please contact the staff member who coordinates employer relations for your career cluster (see Office Hours above). Alternately, you may submit on-campus interview schedule requests through your FutureLink account.

NOTE: Since Ohio State operates a decentralized career services model, you may be interested in hosting interviews for students from more than one college (e.g. Arts and Sciences and Engineering). We are happy to help! Please mention this when you request your schedule and our staff will work with you to determine the best interview schedule strategy based on your needs.
